Most recently, she produced the upcoming feature Ruby Road, starring Frances Fisher, Will Patton, and Lauren Holly, and was an associate producer on the music documentary Louder Than Guns, featuring Old Crow Medicine Show, which had a limited theatrical release and is currently streaming on PBS through Reel South. SXSW. She is currently in post-production on a feature she produced starring Oscar- and Grammy-nominated actors, and in pre-production on a feature adaptation of an acclaimed novel.

Artists Talk with LVA: July 2, 2026

Dr. Fran Kremer & Karen Boone joined us to discuss Human | Nature, the new exhibit opening at Louisville Visual Art on July 11th. Tune in to Artists Talk with LVA each Thursday at 10 am on 97.1 FM/Artxfm.com.

Dr. Fran Kremer served nearly four decades as a Senior Scientist with the US Environmental Protection Agency’s research office until 2025. She led multidisciplinary teams in developing innovative approaches for monitoring and controlling contaminants in water supplies and in anticipating and developing solutions for climate change impacts on public health and the environment. She is a co-founder of Uniting Artists and Scientists for Climate Action (UASCA).

In Karen Boone’s artistic practice, she uses less-toxic materials like foraged ochres from her own property, creek clay, and charred wood, an artistic pact with nature and the wilderness. She has exhibited locally and also in the southwest. Her most recent exhibit was Natural Formations – Sustainably made sculptures and paintings by Karen Boone at Moremen Gallery, Louisville.
