The University of Louisville Theatre department has opened a production of William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night at The Playhouse and runs through November 21 It is directed by Jennifer Pennington and engages with ideas about gender fluidity and non-binary identity in creative ways that follow Shakespeare’s text. Three of the cast members talked with us about their experience with the production.
Allie Firell is a playwright, actor, journalist, who has worked with or written about a good majority of arts groups and artists in the Louisville area. They are a candidate for an MFA from the University of Louisville Theatre Dept.
Sarah Chen Elston is an actor, director, and educator from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She holds a BA in Theatre from both Point Park University and Guilford College.. Currently a candidate for an MFA from the University of Louisville Theatre Dept.
Jahii Bogard is an actorfrom Atlanta, Georgia. He studied theatre at Greensboro College and is currently a candidate for an MFA from the University of Louisville Theatre Dept.

Born a Yankee, and wandering through the South, Sabra Crockett finally found her home in Louisville, Kentucky with all the beautiful songbirds surrounding her, and the most spectacular variety of trees she could possibly hope for.
Crockett has exhibited extensively in Kentucky, and in NYC, North Carolina, California, and De Harmonie, Leeuwarden in the Netherlands.
Edwin Ramirez is a Chicano multimedia Artist, DJ, hairdresser, campaign organizer, and professional dog trainer. My skills are quite varied but my career focus is to assist progressive candidates to win seats in public office.
Their exhibit, The Education of Desire, opens November 3 at Kore Gallery, with an opening reception on November 6 from 6-9 pm. Runs through November 28.
Edward “Nardie” White devoted his life to leading the African-American drum corps he co-founded with his wife, Zambia Nkrumah in Louisville, Kentucky three decades ago. Together they inspired youth from their West Louisville neighborhood to thrive by connecting them with the art and cultural traditions of their African ancestors. After leaving this legacy to his successor, Mr. White decided to pursue his lifelong passion for photography.
Mr. White’s first public photography exhibition, Edward “Ed” White - The Historian took place at the Kentucky College of Art + Design. He currently is a part of Through Their Eyes: Future, Present, Past: An LVA Exhibit for Louisville’s Metro Hall October 8 – November 23, 2021

Letitia Quesenberry lives and works in Louisville, and she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Cincinnati. Through the play of material, process, surface, and technology, her work surveys the boundaries of visual perception. Recent exhibitions include David Smith Gallery, Denver; 57W57, New York; Ryan Lee Gallery, New York; the Speed Art Museum, Louisville and 21C Museums. She is the recipient of grants from SouthArts, Great Meadows Foundation as well as the Al Smith Fellowship, the VSC/Helen Frankenthaler Fellowship & the Efroymson Contemporary Arts Fellowship.
She will be participating in Open Studio Louisville on Saturday, October 23 at her studio at 1520 B Lytle Street in the Portland neighborhood.
