Dr. Debra Clary is an executive with three decades of leadership experience with prominent companies such as Frito-Lay, Coca-Cola, Jack Daniel’s, and Humana. Her broad-based functional expertise spans from global operations & marketing, strategy development, human resources, to corporate board and investor relations.

Debra has translated her message into the theatrical realm as a testament to her creativity and passion. She wrote and performed the play 'A Curious Woman' off-Broadway in 2023, showcasing her ability to communicate and engage through multiple mediums.

LVA Executive Director Dr. Angela Hagan grew up in southeastern Illinois, but claims Louisville as her adopted hometown after moving here in 1997. Her academic and career path, which has never taken her far from the Ohio River Valley, has related to the ecosystem supporting healthy, vibrant, thriving communities.

 For over a decade, she worked in leadership functions including development, marketing and communications, and community engagement for nonprofit organizations focused on affordable and fair housing, education, youth development, and art (KMAC Museum) before spending a decade at Louisville-based Fortune 60 health plan Humana, where she led functions and teams in member engagement and community health strategy and insights.

Artists Talk with LVA: April 24, 2025

Levi Justice & Christopher St. John open new exhibits at Galerie Hertz this weekend and join us in the studio. Tune in to WXOX 97.1 FM/Artxfm.com each Thursday at 10 am to hear Artists Talk with LVA.

Levi Justice is a contemporary visual artist specializing in large-scale, hyper-realistic oil paintings. At age 12, he began working with wood & various metals, creating sculptures he sold to private collectors. Justice pursued fine art at Kentucky's Centre College.  After graduating, Levi moved to North Carolina, where he began managing art galleries & teaching artistic techniques to his community. Levi currently resides in Louisville, Kentucky.

Christopher St. John received his BFA from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, and his MFA in ceramics from Ohio University. He served four years of active duty in the Army. Travel has informed his practice, both in choice of material, appreciation of light and landscape, and adaptability to changing conditions. Christopher has artwork in the permanent collections of both the Museum of the North in Fairbanks, Alaska, and the Hawaii State Art Museum. He is always at home in a forest. 

Christopher began his journey with ceramics 5 years ago. He decided to return to graduate school to deepen his understanding of this field and devote himself fully to becoming a teaching artist. He is currently the Resident Artist at Indiana University Southeast. The values and goals of his work lie in support of the challenges human beings currently face on the only known planet that supports life. 

Two Approaches to Portraiture opens at Galerie Hertz Saturday, April 24 with a reception from 1 - 3 pm.

KMAC Couture 2025: Lucky #13 is a wearable live art runway show presented by KMAC Museum. It is the signature fundraiser for KMAC Museum that provides funding for the Museum's educational programs and exhibitions. This event offers a unique way to experience art and fashion. KMAC Couture features and supports emerging and established artists, costumers, designers, and milliners through the extraordinary presentation of original couture pieces of wearable art and conceptual fashion designs. Mallory Quisenberry is a fashion designer and the founder of Green Folk Collective which features her “handcrafted slow fashion designs. This is her second time with KMAC Couture.

Elizabeth Windisch is a Multimedia artist, surface pattern designer and archivist. Her current designs are created from hand drawings inspired by the unseen forces of nature.

Kris Thompson is Development & Special Projects Manager at KMAC Museum. She is also a fiber artist living and working in Louisville, KY. Recent group exhibitions include an all woman show which she co-curated and exhibited in and a show at Moreman Gallery.

Artists Talk with LVA SPECIAL: April 13, 2025

Dr. Rob Quicke is the Director and Professor of the W. Page Pitt School of Journalism & Mass Communications at Marshall University, West Virginia, and the author of Finding Your Voice in Radio, Audio, and Podcast Production.

Previously Quicke was a tenured Professor of Communication at William Paterson University of New Jersey, where he served as Chair and in leadership of the Communication Department.

In 2013, Dr. Quicke was recognized with the Outstanding Service Award from the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System for his dedication to academic broadcasting. In 2020, Dr. Quicke was awarded the Joel Willer Award for Exceptional Dedication and Service to Electronic Student Media by College Broadcasters, Inc.  Dr. Quicke is also founder of The Dead Podcasters Society and has recently launched a podcasting program and lab at William Paterson University.

Dr. Quicke sat down for an interview when he visited WXOX/Artxfm during the 75th hour of Vinylthon 2025. Rb also recorded this interview for possible inclusion on his podcast, Quicke Takes.

Artists Talk with LVA: April 10, 2025

Morgan McGill & Haylie Fitzgibbon are featured in the 2025 Art in City Hall exhibition and will join us in the studio this week. Tune into WXOX 97.1 FM/Artxfm.com each Thursday at 10 am to hear Artists Talk with LVA.

Morgan McGill is a Louisville-based artist and designer who blends collage, printmaking, and painting to explore themes of empowerment and community. In both her studio work and public art, her work focuses on storytelling, particularly highlighting the ways women support and uplift one another. 

A graduate of the Hite Art Institute at the University of Louisville, McGill has studied and exhibited internationally. She was commissioned to honor Muhammad Ali with a mural for the 2021 Imagine Mural Festival and contributed to the We Don’t Wither exhibition at the Muhammad Ali Center in 2023. Her recent work with Bloomberg Philanthropies helped combat urban heat and improve pedestrian safety in Louisville’s Parkland neighborhood. She has been awarded multiple grants through the Great Meadows Foundation and the Kentucky Foundation for Women, using her art to document and share the stories of women throughout Kentucky.

Haylie Fitzgibbon is a printmaker and mixed media artist born and raised in Louisville, currently pursuing a BFA at the Hite Art Institute at the University of Louisville. Her work showcases themes of childhood nostalgia, love, and the blend of chaos and beauty of nature.

Both artists are featured in the 2025 Art in City Hall exhibit that runs through the remainder of the year.
