Lori and Beth
Beth Marie Mattingly & Lori Lamb join us to discuss the upcoming Open Studio Weekend. Tune in to Artists Talk with LVA each Thursday at 10 am on 97.1 FM or Artxfm.com.
When Lori Lamb was a middle school student, her art teacher encouraged her to create art and even started a new advanced art class for a few students to keep us engaged. She graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Arts. As she worked primarily in administrative support roles and raised two children with her husband, she continued to draw and paint in her spare time.
After a 40-year career managing law offices, Beth Marie Mattingly started making art. Her work is rooted in curiosity and experimentation. She builds mixed-media pieces with handmade papers, paint, fibers, photographs, found materials, music, maps - whatever seems to belong in the conversation. Some of her art can be seen at Gallery 104 in LaGrange, KY.
Open Studio Weekend is scheduled for October 14-15. The OSW Juried Exhibition opens at Hite Institute’s Cressman Center for Visual Art on October 13th. Find out more at OPEN STUDIO WEEKEND.
