Artists Talk with LVA: August 14, 2025

Mollie Murk is an actor, director, and teaching artist. In Louisville, they have worked most often for Kentucky Shakespeare Festival, playing Hamlet this past summer, Lady Macbeth, Viola in Twelfth Night, and The Woman in KSF’s 2021 Halloween thriller, The Turn of the Screw. Mollie has directed for three witches shakespeare. 

Mollie is an alum of Hope College and Shakespeare & Company’s Center for Actor Training, and is a proud member of the Ring of Keys Network: www.RingofKeys.org/keys/Mollie-Murk.

They have also performed at Actors Theatre of Louisville (The Wolves, Dracula, Dracula: The Radio Play, and Are You There?) Hope Summer Repertory Theatre, Derby Dinner Playhouse, Know Theatre of Cincinnati, Suspend Aerial Arts, and have enjoyed teaching at Commonwealth Theatre Center, Seattle Children’s Theatre, and Lookingglass Theatre Company.

Karl Anderson is a freelance visual artist/painter and theatrical scenic designer. He has worked for Actors Theatre of Louiville, Stage One Family Theatre, Pandora Productions, and Kentucky Shakespeare, among many others. "Kaleidoscope", an exhibit of his newest work as a visual artist will open at Kore Gallery on August 2 with a reception from 6 - 8:30 pm.

Abstract Landscapes: a New Look by Chris Hartsfield will also be opening at that time.

Artists Talk with LVA: December 28, 2023

Kentucky Shakespeare opens Kate Hamill's adaptation of Sense & Sensibility on January 6 and director Amy Attaway was live in the studio this week to tell us all about it. Tune in to WXOX 97.1 FM/Artxfm.com each Thursday at 10 am to hear Artists Talk with LVA.

Amy Attaway has been the Associate Artistic Director of Kentucky Shakespeare since 2016, after several summers directing with the company. She also serves as director/facilitator of Kentucky Shakespeare’s Shakespeare with Veterans.

Before that Amy was a Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director for 10 years of Theatre [502], a Louisville company dedicated to recent and relevant theatre, and she spent five seasons as Associate Director of the Apprentice/Intern Company at Actors Theatre of Louisville.

Amy is a graduate of the University of Evansville and lives in Louisville with her fantastic husband and daughter and a growing menagerie of rescued pets.

Artebella On The Radio: March 25

The 2021 Arts-Louisville Theatre Awards will live stream this March 25, and as a part of this year's special edition, Angelica Santiago & Crystian Wiltshire talk about being BIPOC actors working out of Louisville. Join us this Thursday on WXOX 97.1 FM, or stream on Artxfm.com at 10 am.

Angelica Santiago, a multicultural chica born and raised Jersey native, is an actress telling the stories that need to be told. Having graduated from Montclair State University with her BFA in acting she uses the skills towards her craft to connect with people around the world and dive into her work in an even more personal way. Angelica's passion for acting comes from her desire to inspire audiences from all over and allow them to be affected by the stories of people that must share what they have to say. She was apart of the 2018-19 Actors Theatre of Louisville Acting Apprenticeship and has continued to work off and on in Louisville for Actors Theatre, Kentucky Shakespeare, and the Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati.

Crystian Wiltshire is originally from Brooklyn, New York but is an alumnus of the African American Theatre Program at the University of Louisville Department of Theatre Arts. He has worked with Stage One Family Theatre, Kentucky Shakespeare, Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, and the Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati.

Brian Hinds plays the title character and Jennifer Pennington Lady M in the new Kentucky Shakespeare drive-in production of Macbeth that runs through October 31. They are also both teachers so they came in to talk about the first live theatre with an audience since March and how teaching online or in a hybrid model is working right now. Originally from Maine, Brian Hinds spent ten years with The Children's Theatre of Maine where he served as an actor, instructor, and director. He was also a member of Mad Horse Theater Company. Since moving to Louisville Brian has worked as an outreach artist with Kentucky Shakespeare before joining the faculty at YPAS (Youth Performing Arts School). He is also a member of the Louisville Improvisors and has worked as an actor and director with several local companies, including Kentucky Shakespeare, Savage Rose Classical Theatre Company and The Liminal Playhouse.

Jennifer Pennington is currently Manager of Student and Alumni Engagement at Commonwealth Theatre Center. She holds a BFA in Acting from University of Michigan and an MFA in Theatre from the University of Tennessee’s International Actor Training Academy. In Scotland she studied Voice/Speech with Kristin Linklater and Louis Colaianni. Jen, having transplanted from Los Angeles, has worked with companies all over the country including: South Coast Rep., P.S.Arts, EastLA Classic Theatre, Idyllwild Arts Academy, Michigan Theatre Festival, Pittsburgh’s Three Rivers Shakespeare Festival, Tennessee’s Clarence Brown Theatre, Arizona Shakespeare Festival and many local companies. Currently, Jen is an actor with The Kentucky Shakespeare Festival, serves on the board for PAL Coalition (Federal Drug Free Communities Support Grant) and is a member of VASTA (Voice and Speech Trainers Association.)
